The training needs assessment also helped to identify the strategic training needs of the various ministries and universities with a view to providing them with training activities and eventually technical assistance.

At the end of each session, evaluation forms were distributed to participants in order to get feedback on how to improve the organization of future training workshops and on the further development of training materials.

Other gaps include joint contingency planning, assessments and training.

The SDCs assess the training needs of their geographical areas, prioritise these on the basis on market demand and facilitate training of workers through training providers in the pubic and private sectors.

Nor did UNFPA assess the particular skills required, identify training needs or assess the impact of national execution on staff resources.

It is also assessing the nature of its clientele, which is comprised largely of school leavers.

The assessment includes two one week training workshops in each city per year.

Should this strategy be implemented, a reassessment of training and capacity building needs would be required.

The training materials on GHG inventories and V and A assessments were developed prior to the workshops and used at these training workshops.

A training programme on project preparation and appraisal with an environmental impact assessment component held at Dhaka provided training of about 25 officials of various economic ministries of Bangladesh on the techniques of project preparation and appraisal, including assessment of environmental impact.

For instance, recent inter agency training on CCA UNDAF piloted by the Staff College has shown that it is essential to take into account the specificities of each agency before developing inter agency training programmes.

(b) A review of the span of control of supervisors and the appropriate degree of independence exercisable by procurement officers

In paragraph 97, the Administration informed the Board that it (i) had carried out an in depth course evaluation focusing on assessing the impact of the training on individual and organizational efficiency and (ii) would allocate funds for training in accordance with paragraphs 4.1 and 4.2 of administrative instruction ST AI 1997 4.

While a number of countries may complain of assessment fatigue , both in general and in relation to specific technical assistance and training, others are still calling for such assessments to assist in defining and refining their needs.

60. In assessing the projects submitted, the Office of the Under Secretary for Vocational Training enjoyed the services of a team of assessors specially trained by the Vocational Training Centre (CEDFOPE) to evaluate the course contents.

Four country case studies were also presented, highlighting the challenges and lessons learned in mitigation assessments, particularly in the process of training and retaining national experts.

The strategy is to increase local ownership and involvement in assessing training needs in the judicial sector, curriculum development, training delivery and impact evaluation.
