The force is composed of 1,732 force protection troops, 451 military observers, 460 civilian police and 31 international and Ceasefire Commission staff.

The task force's mandate was renewed in Commission on Human Rights resolution 2005 4 upon recommendation of the Working Group at its sixth session.

Twenty six of the team were released the same day, but the team leader and his interpreter were kept as hostages.

The volume of work and effort required to manage such a fleet increases the staff s workload.

The current staffing for UNFICYP totals 351 posts, consisting of 44 international staff and 307 local staff.

24. The current authorized staffing for UNIFIL totals 476 posts, consisting of 143 international and 333 local staff.

Of the nine existing investigation teams, three teams have 10 Professionals (1 P 4, 4 P 3 and 5 P 2 posts) and six teams have 9 Professionals (1 P 4, 4 P 3 and 4 P 2).

Furthermore, the Personnel Conduct Unit will be supported in developing implementation plans and guidance through two existing task forces the Department of Peacekeeping Operations task force on sexual exploitation and abuse and the Executive Committee on Humanitarian Affairs Executive Committee on Peace and Security task force, which coordinates related United Nations system wide efforts.

The Committee is of the view that the Secretary General s report does not take full account of the fact that new contingent owned equipment arrangements should lead to less staff required to process contingent owned equipment claims.

72. Paragraph 77. The issue of mobility and planned rotation of staff is also being addressed within the context of the Task Force.

The Secretary General should keep under review the question of replacing international staff with local staff.

The authorized strength of the Mission is 203 military observers, 186 contingent personnel, 7 force orderly personnel and 81 civilian police observers, supported by a civilian establishment of 285 international staff, 105 local staff and 10 observers from the Organization of African Unity (OAU).

The human resources task force would address both the issue of attrition and of the diamond shaped configuration of the staff.

13. Requests the Secretary General to continue to consult with staff, including staff representatives, in the development of mobility policies

Upon appointment, each staff member, including a staff member on secondment from government service, shall receive a letter of appointment in accordance with the provisions of annex II to the present Regulations and signed by the Secretary General or by an official in the name of the Secretary General.

The project team included the participation of the private sector.

It provided for 141 military observers, 965 military contingent personnel, 43 civilian police, 306 international staff, 535 national staff and 32 United Nations Volunteers.

The cost estimates provide for 1,350 military contingent personnel, 24 civilian police experts, 106 international staff and 73 local staff.

Training for humanitarian personnel and peacekeepers has been conducted in collaboration with United Nations country teams, mainly in sub Saharan Africa.

84. The United Nations Staff College Project improved the training programme on the theme Management of development national capacity strengthening , in which 41 country teams participated, with a total of 265 team members, including key national and international staff.
