The present report, together with the audited financial statements for the biennium ended 31 December 1997 also includes the report of the Board of Auditors.

The final report of the assessment will be released in 2005 and Phase A will start in 2006.

The Chairman said that the report would in its final form include the statement of the Rapporteur.

(f) No terminal reports were prepared (3 projects) and terminal reports were delayed from 2 to 18 months (7 projects).

That question, however, would be dealt with in the final performance report, which was due to be submitted in early December.

Secondly, several new groups of stateless persons who had not previously been brought to the attention of the Office's statistical reporting unit were included in the final report on 2004.

The report notes that site visits were terminated in November 2004 due to security concerns.

The Executive Board had before it the financial report and audited financial statements for the biennium ended 31 Dec 2003 (A 59 5 Add.2), which was introduced by the Comptroller.

UNOPS audit exception reports are being developed in conjunction with UNDP and will be rolled out in the second and third quarters of 2005 after completion of the statutory reports for the year end closing.

There is no profit motive and there is no inventory that needs to be valued at the end of the year for financial statement reporting purposes.

The case had been reported in the report of the Board of Auditors for the year ending 31 December 1995.

Finally, this year, a number of reports, including one by the Secretary General himself, seem to have spurred all of us to action.

They are reported as such only at year apos s end.

At the close of a biennium, another opportunity arises for the Secretary General to report on activities and outputs that have been terminated.

During the biennium ending 31 December 1997, seven cases of fraud and presumptive fraud were reported to the Board.

UNICEF expenditures in the year 2004 were 1,599 million.

These reports were used in the data cleansing task performed on the data entered in Atlas for the year ended 31 December 2004.
