(a) The SBSTA noted the need for the provision of technical inputs to its work on methodological and technological issues.

Discussions had been held on issues such as a possible multilateral framework on investment and its development dimension, export processing zones, targeting investors, locational decisions of investors, outward investment promotion measures and investment incentives.

Delegations agreed that, due to the complexity of the issue, the cooperation of all concerned parties must be engaged in the assessment exercises and that the difficulty of these efforts should not undermine the importance of the issue.
