However, a number of observations were made and questions asked.

28. A number of delegations then took the floor for a variety of comments.

The participants exchanged views and made several comments on the COPINE project.

Minor changes were made to take account of some of the comments made during the discussion.

It should be recalled, however, that a number of these organizations had already submitted their comments in 1995 and had no additional comments.

Observations were made of the planning and operational aspects associated with these exercises.

Some members recalled that this was the second occasion on which this intention had been declared.

8. The Working Party made several comments with regard to the issue of UNCTAD publications, and a number of broad issues were raised by several countries.

It has been provided to allow for better understanding of the other views issues raised in the first part of the document.

I think that a number of common denominators have emerged this morning, as have some exceptions to those common denominators.

Nevertheless, it is appropriate to proffer a few pertinent observations.

A number of observations and recommendations for the consideration of the Assembly are set out in section V.

But we have a number of suggestions for new proposals for the agenda and modifications to the Chairman's proposal.

Some of those delegations had made detailed observations, and he could state with confidence, on behalf of the Special Rapporteur, that their comments would be given careful consideration.

A number also propose strategies to increase the attention given to the views of children.

2. The first chapter gives some points of reference concerning the general situation and recent developments in Burundi.

6.1 On 22 October 2003, the State party made additional submissions on the admissibility and, subsidiarily, the merits.

The Commission is invited to provide input on those issues.

During the substantive discussion, a number of general as well as more specific comments were made.

Mandated implementation activities Party submissions revealed a number of individual Party comments rather than concerns shared by several Parties.

It notes that the State party had forwarded its observations with regard to Mr. Burrell apos s death and that it had not raised any objections to admissibility of that part of the communication.

COMMENTS AND PROPOSALS RECEIVED FROM GOVERNMENTS

With regard to these issues, the report of the Working Group provides the views of the various groups (see A C.5 58 37, annexes I IV).

With regard to operational activities, the Advisory Committee had made wide ranging comments and recommendations in a number of areas.

Requests for access made by the office under the Proclamation have been agreed upon except in a few politically sensitive cases.

Secondly, I would like to make some comments with respect to each of the three committees.

We would like to add a few additional comments to the debate on our own behalf.

4.1 In its submission under rule 91, the State party does not object to the admissibility and offers observations on the merits of the case.

These and other points emerging from the mission have provided the elements for the formulation of a project proposal for technical assistance which has received the endorsement of the PCBS and is awaiting funding.

Specific criticisms were made by a few Parties relating primarily to the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the CRIC, in terms of length, scheduling and focus.

A number of observations, which have appeared most frequently and which have a broad geographical distribution, indicate areas in need of particular attention.

It was noted that the proposal contained interesting ideas and that there was room for improvement in the thematic debate.

As to the author's claim under article 7, the State party submits that the author makes a number of unspecified critical comments about the Dutch asylum proceedings.
