Morocco regularly hosts events and conferences in that area.

These activities of the office are internal (i.e., within the Fund's Geneva Office), external (e.g., carried out with the host organization, the United Nations Office in Geneva, and the host country, through the Swiss Mission) and relate to participants, beneficiaries, member organizations and their staff pension committees.

While some of these have taken place outside the United Nations, others have been held under United Nations auspices and hosted by the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

The Chairman of the Subcommittee congratulated UNU on the breadth and depth of its several sponsored activities.

Thanks to the public venue and the extended outreach afforded by its co sponsors, the event received broad media coverage and drew nearly four times as large an audience as attended past World AIDS Day observances held at Headquarters.

There has been an increase in the amount of funding, raised through more activity led fundraising techniques such as sponsored Walks and Treks.

Other observances involved a central event organized in parliament.

The programme will emphasize activities, particularly in the design of policy alternatives, in the areas of poverty eradication and democratic governance.

UNFPA and the International Planned Parenthood Federation will sponsor the event.

The gender activities of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are, in the main, implemented by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The Regional Office has assisted in the preparation for the Summit, notably by intensive participation in a working group on education.
