Some of their meetings in Haiti were held in common.

Its meetings normally take place at the Peace Palace at The Hague, the Netherlands.

On 10 September, the Security Council held consultations, followed by an open meeting, on Haiti.

However, the mission was of the view that democratic elections seemed essential for restoring Haitian hopes and conditions and that there were opportunities in the current climate that Haiti could build upon in order to overcome the crisis.

The Group also participated in a Security Council open debate on Haiti in January 2005.

2.2.3 Financial and customs administration

The Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group on Implementation of Integrated Marine and Coastal Area Management met from 11 to 15 July 2005 to consider how countries can implement the Convention's programme of work on marine and coastal biodiversity (decision VII 5, annex I) as it relates to integrated marine and coastal area management.

Regarding the South China Sea the Bien Dong Sea the Thirty eighth ASEAN Ministerial Meeting, held in Vientiane last July, continued to reaffirm the importance of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea the Bien Dong Sea as an important step towards a regional code of conduct in the South China Sea.

They stressed that successful elections hinge upon the capacity of the Transitional Government to achieve progress, with the support of MINUSTAH, in these areas during this crucial phase of the political transition.

The mission urges Haitian authorities to do everything possible to prepare for elections and to ensure their smooth operation.

Similarly the customs department has instituted a computerized program known as the automated system for customs data (ASYCUDA), which integrates customs and clearing and forwarding activities.

The vessel had been out of commission for three years. This vessel, with its present capability, will assist greatly in enforcing and maintaining fisheries, immigration and customs laws and in apprehending those who carry out illegal activities in Anguilla's territorial waters.1
