Any surplus would be classified as miscellaneous income.

2. Operational reserve and annual surpluses of income over expenditure

The expected surplus of income over expenditure at the end of the biennium is projected at 1,674,735.

It will be financed by recurrent revenue of 102 million, the surplus from 2004 and borrowing.

In 1996 1997, income for the year was NZ 784,257 and expenditures NZ 781,688, leaving a surplus of NZ 2,569.

As of at 31 December 2004, the secretariat has recorded a cumulative surplus from savings from operations of previous periods and interest income to the amount of US 3,197,370.

The latter category includes income from sales publications, interest earned on surplus funds and other sundry items for which details are provided in a separate section.

The volume of sales produces a net income that is part of the agency s accumulated surpluses and contributes significantly to the development of its Technical Cooperation Fund.

Thanks to those remittances, its per capita income was equal to or even greater than that of Senegal and it consistently registered a surplus in its balance of payments.

Consequently there was no proper system to determine the cash needs of the organization, to plan for those needs, to ascertain surplus cash available and to invest it to maximize the return on idle funds.

The second fact is that Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan all relatively high income economies have a large trade surplus with China. Germany has relatively balanced trade with China, even recording a modest bilateral surplus in the post crisis period.

The cash surplus for the financial period shall be determined by crediting to the provisional cash surplus any arrears of prior periods' contributions received during this period and any savings from the provisions made for unliquidated obligations as mentioned above.

The overall gains were reflected in government revenues, particularly in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, resulting in a historically high level of fiscal surpluses there.

Well, look, we had all that saved up surplus before so we can use that.

These costs are more than offset by interest income earned on cash balances, which are budgeted under income section 2, General income.

The eurozone is now running even larger ones, with swings in southern Europe augmenting Germany s longstanding surpluses. Indeed, countries from Singapore to Russia are running large surpluses.

I call it cognitive surplus.

Although public sector recurrent expenditure increased from 25 million to 34 million over the same period, the Government realized some surplus revenue towards the end of the period.

(i) Reserves and fund balances The surplus account of the United Nations General Fund represents funds available for credit to Member States arising from unobligated balances of appropriations, savings in the liquidation of obligations for prior periods, contributions from new Member States and other designated income.

In case surplus reserves are used for increasing capital, making up losses or distributing dividends, it is required to give the related resolution or basis.

We de linked that, and once we did it, we began to budget at a price slightly lower than the oil price and save whatever was above that price.

The 32 million proposed for transfer consists of an estimated 16 million in cumulative investment income plus an additional 16 million of the cumulative surplus from contributions.
