In accordance with the revisions to the methodology approved the previous year, the Committee also proposed to increase the flat rates for boarding and the additional flat rates for boarding.

The rates and standard costs utilized in the recosting include inflation and exchange rates, standard salary costs, common staff costs and vacancy rates.

It was also noted that the additional flat rate had been established at the level of 150 per cent of the normal flat rates.

Aetna s administrative fee rate of 7.5 per cent of claims is the lowest of the fees charged by the five plans, the other rates ranging between 11.3 and 14 per cent.
