Need for gender statistics

National statistical offices could benefit from the establishment and retention of gender statistics units.

Working systematically on the improvement of the timeliness of international statistics

This is done by assessing national statistical capacity to report gender statistics to the international statistical system.

Demand reduction standards related to epidemiological studies will have been set, and harmonization of statistical systems will have been undertaken.

A national strategy provides a country with both the means to strengthen statistical capacity across the entire national statistical system and a vision regarding where the system should be in 5 to 10 years and sets milestones towards realizing that vision.

This information assists the Commission in monitoring statistics and determining progress.

A contingency plan should make provision for crisis management, dealing with system failure and ensuring operational recovery but most importantly, it should identify priorities and specify levels of performance degradation that the Organization can temporarily work with.
