The Occupational Health and Safety Act

The Occupational Health and Safety Act and the amendment act to the Product Safety Act provide for occupational health and safety requirements for work the duties of employers and workers in creating and ensuring a working environment which is safe for health the organisation of occupational health and safety in enterprises and at state level the procedure for conduct of administrative challenge proceedings, and liability for violation of the occupational health and safety requirements.

Mexico has ratified the following ILO Conventions on occupational safety and health matters the Radiation Protection Convention (No. 115) the Hygiene (Shops and Offices) Convention (No. 120) the Safety and Health of Workers Convention (No. 155), the Occupational Health Services Convention (No. 161), the Safety and Health in the Building Industry Convention (No. 167) and the Chemical Substances Convention (No. 170).

81. The obligations of establishments and workers in the field of occupational safety and health are determined in Part X Occupational safety and health of the Labour Code, as well as in Part I General provisions and Part IV Obligations of establishments and workers resulting from an employment relationship .

105. The Factories Ordinance provides for minimum conditions of occupational health and safety.
