Implementation of the Cooperation Agreement with the United Nations Development Programme

UNICEF is supporting or developing joint water and sanitation system reconstruction programmes in three countries, together with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

(a) Activities implemented jointly the number of projects an amount of expenditure

This project wastablished by an alliance between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

In implementing its constitutional support programme, UNAMI has been working closely with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the United Nations Development Group (UNDG) Iraq Trust Fund.

The UNU received 95,000 from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to continue implementing the project.

UNAMI carried out its mandate in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.

The first phase of the project was launched in selected countries, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The United Nations Millennium Project has noted the importance of regional cooperation in meeting the Millennium Development Goals.

This submission is made in conformity with the United Nations Office for Project Services Financial Regulations and Financial Rules of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which are applicable to the Office mutatis mutandis.

Zambia has approved a project for the formulation of a master plan to be supported jointly by UNDCP and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Encourages in particular the cooperation between the Centre for Human Rights and the United Nations Development Programme, with a view to integrating, with the advice of the Commission on Human Rights, projects for strengthening human rights into the United Nations Development Programme activities and carrying out joint projects

3. In 1997, the Executive Heads of ECO and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) exchanged official visits and both organizations agreed to undertake a joint project on support to ECO member countries in trade efficiency and economic cooperation, to be funded by UNDP.

9. The United Nations Office for Project Services began implementing projects for other United Nations organizations in 1996, with 14 projects for five United Nations agencies.

The project proposal has been accepted by the UN group, led by UNDP.

An ability to pool resources and reduce costs for technology development (e.g. the undertaking of joint projects)

The project involves joint research, training and development of selected software packages.

UNCTAD and UNDP are undertaking a joint project on environmental management systems in selected developing countries.

Strategies were needed to ensure that the results of joint research and development projects would be retained in developing countries.

Finally, Turkey was cooperating closely with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on a project to support the development of a programme for IDPs in Turkey.

Its activities were supplemented by a United Nations Development Programme and UNIDO project, mainly funded by the Turkish Government.

88. Mr. Gurman (United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)) said that the United Nations system was demonstrating great unity of purpose to promote inter agency cooperation.

Payments to the United Nations Development Programme

79. In the Horn of Africa, UNDP is working on a consolidated programme of action that would realize the common goals of IGAD, the United Nations development system and non governmental organizations.

177. UNU and the Department of Peacekeeping Operations are developing jointly the UNU project on the Foundations of Peace.

Meanwhile, the community arms collection and destruction pilot project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is expected to commence in September.

He welcomed the Cooperation Agreement concluded between UNIDO and UNDP and the launch of a number of joint pilot projects.

16. ECO has already approached IDB concerning the funding of the project.

This project is being funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and is being administered by the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States.13

He expressed his Government's appreciation to the Department for International Development (United Kingdom) (DFID) for its contribution to the project.

Other United Nations specialized agencies are invited to cooperate in the pilot projects.

B. Project development

In support of this part of the claim, Iran has provided a copy of the joint project contract between IFC and FAO UNDP as well as a copy of a letter issued in 1997 regarding the assessment of damage due to the delay in the project.

The United Nations Office for Project Services began implementing projects for other United Nations organizations in 1996 (14 projects for five agencies).

In addition the Consortium member will submit a (sub ) project quarterly expenditure account.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is looking forward to further work on sport for development and peace and coordinating activities at the field level.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) played an important role in serving as implementing agency for some of the regional projects.

45. In addition, based on invoices for six of the projects submitted by UNDP, the lead United Nations agency for the construction of common premises on the projects, there were substantial cost overruns, ranging from 29 to 287 per cent over the contract price.
