The resulting opportunities to expand beyond traditional products and markets will enable pharmaceutical companies to evolve into companies that offer a range of health care solutions. Health insurance pays in full or in part for many prescription medicines.

3. The situation of services in the public health system is critical due to the lack of essential medicines for instance, antibiotics such as penicillin and other products needed for the sterilization of instruments and equipment.

Environmental pollution has led to an increase in the incidence of cancer, while Iraqi health institutions are unable to provide the medicines or other means to treat such disease.

Almost 70 per cent of the population, 17 million people, for the first time in our history have been given free health care, including medication.

We have mapped the human genome, while there are places on Earth where people are dying because of shortages of basic medicines and health care.
