The firearm licence expires at the end of each year and is renewable annually.

As for the period of validity of a firearm licence, articles 6 (a) and (b) of the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation provide that a licence to carry or manufacture firearms is valid for one year, expiring on the thirty first day of December in the year in which it is issued and renewable annually.
