And stakeholders with specific trade offs will try to influence the decision.

These include multilateral agencies, civil society, national stakeholders and the donor community.

Periodic and comprehensive surveys of stakeholders should be conducted.

Other stakeholders apos participation

In order that stakeholder involvement may be enhanced, participation by major groups continues to be strengthened.

The Plan of Implementation of the World Summit on Sustainable Development,4 held in Johannesburg in 2002, includes volunteer groups among the stakeholders for whom partnerships between Governments and non governmental actors need to be enhanced.

The interests of minorities should be given due regard , which means that they should be given reasonable weight compared with other legitimate interests that the Government has to take into consideration.

Due account will be given to sectoral and other needs assessments undertaken by all stakeholders.2 Involvement of all stakeholders, including the civil society and private sector, will be promoted.

C. Civil society and other stakeholders

The contribution of all stakeholders is of the utmost importance.

In general, for most country Parties the synergy workshop was the first national level opportunity to discuss the conventions jointly among a large group of relevant stakeholders.

We are not a special interest group.

The latter was a collective responsibility that required the sustained efforts of both stakeholders and the United Nations system.

Many shareholders and stakeholders would be interested in information that would help them determine that management is running the enterprise with the best interest of all shareholders and stakeholders in mind and not to unduly benefit any related parties (see also section II.E.6 below on conflict of interest).

To realize the multi stakeholder approach, it was essential that all relevant stakeholders participate in each of the consultations.

The Committee wishes to stress, however, that whatever system is chosen, it should not discriminate between groups, and should not lead to a situation where some groups are recognized while others are not, or where the interests of some groups are taken into consideration while interests of other groups are not.

We have finalized a poverty reduction strategy paper through wide ranging consultations with all stakeholders.

Such opportunities for dialogue between the various stakeholders in social development could lead to tangible outcomes.

At the fifth session of the Forum, based on consultations with major groups about the planning of the multi stakeholder dialogue, the Bureau decided that agenda item 8, Multi stakeholder dialogue , would be integrated into the plenary discussions of all agenda items, including the high level segment.

E. Stakeholder relations

In other countries, the media were being manipulated to the detriment of minorities, at times inciting discrimination against minorities.

We have now embarked on a series of national consultations with the relevant stakeholders to speed up the domestication of the statute.
