Towards this end, the Environmental Management Group will establish an issues management group on the Bali Strategic Plan.

As a member of both UNDG and the UNDG Executive Committee (ExCom), WFP participated fully in leading these efforts.

The Planning Division, the department concerned with elaborating the national development plans of the country, also collects data.

This point was accepted by representatives from other UNDG agencies present in this forum (UNDP, UNICEF and the World Food Programme).

It understood that the allocation of funds for the electoral process, coordinated by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), took no account of the Mission's activities, which should instead be funded from its own budget.

As president of the Group of Eight (G 8) in 2002, Canada worked with our partners to produce the G 8 Africa Action Plan, launched at the G 8 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, in June 2002 in response to NEPAD's priorities.

The United Nations Development Group, comprising the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Food Programme (WFP) and other relevant operational entities, facilitates joint policy formulation and decision making on development cooperation issues.

Some of WFP's important contributions to UNDG during 2004 included

These initiatives will not be handled by UNDP separately but in a harmonized way under UNDG.

The UNDG work plan will be shared with delegations at the upcoming session of the Economic and Social Council as part of the UNDG Executive Committee Issues Paper.

WFP continues to be an active partner in providing repatriation and reintegration assistance under the voluntary group repatriation programme.

Delegations reiterated that all agencies should harmonize their cost recovery principles, and commended UNDP collaboration with the UNDG Management Group.

With regard to the programme of work of the Conference, our delegation forms part of the Group of 21 which submitted the proposal contained in document CD 1462 of 5 June 1997.

As is the case in cooperation with UNDP, UNEP participation in the United Nations Development Group has been hampered by the absence of a UNEP country presence.

In the opinion of OIOS, the information security plan should be integrated into the overall mission security plan.

The compilation and publication of data, by country and by jurisdiction, are also being planned.
