Since the first training course in July 2000, UNMOVIC has conducted 30 training courses, including seven basic and 11 advanced courses.

Training courses were envisaged for both high and low level judges during the coming year.

Senior management training.

The attendees of the Course were senior officials from agencies responsible for counter terrorism from ASEAN countries.

Specific training and short term courses are also conducted by local tertiary institutions.

Four military courses took place each year in 1992 and 1993, and five courses in 1994 and 1995 in the English, French and Spanish languages, with a global participation of 577 senior officers from 113 countries.

Training was required at a variety of levels and in a number of forms, from one day to one week seminars for senior resource management personnel to two week to three month training classes for advanced technical personnel, to university degree training at undergraduate and graduate levels.

The training package has been tested and developed in numerous training courses organized by HC CHR in different countries over the past three years.

The organization of advanced training seminars for active Judges, in the context of operation of the Department of Advanced Training of the National School of Judges in Komotini.

During 2004, OHCHR has directly facilitated 10 national level training workshops.

Each of the training sessions was preceded by a distance learning course.

This initial training was usually followed by advanced professional training courses.

The project also includes training for police trainers, including the translation of the HC CHR police training manual.

As in the case of the training course in Fiji, participation in the forthcoming training courses would be open to the technical staff of the developing States of the specific region.

The field office shipped detection and protective equipment, required to support the Biological Advanced Course, to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Two courses have been completed in Asia and another one is programmed for 2006 in Africa.

This fourth advanced biological course was held at Swindon, United Kingdom, from 25 July to 5 August.

Although many women work in the latter areas, they are not in supervisory or middle management positions, which is why the statistics show lower participation by women in in house training.

The Centre apos s Training Institute continued to provide short term training courses and, during the period under review, organized and executed 12 training courses in different fields.
