WCMC World Conservation Monitoring Centre

Discussions are continuing between UNEP and the World Conservation and Monitoring Centre (WCMC) towards signing a memorandum of understanding in 1998 for WCMC to join the GRID network as a centre for biodiversity and conservation.

Regarding the preservation and conservation of the movable artistic heritage, INBA has an important specialized Conservation Centre whose cataloguing and preservation work is fundamental for the country's cultural history.

This process has been undertaken in collaboration with the University of the West Indies Centre for Environment and Development, the Caribbean Conservation Association, and the Jamaica Resources Conservation Authority, among others.
