Replacement of damaged obsolete equipment and preparation for the transition to MONUA

The Global Office led the preparation of specifications for health, housing, government, construction and equipment.

Their critical activities include receipt of equipment, coding items, preparing documentation for issuance of material, and preparation of release vouchers.

The work of the unit included the preparation of layouts of publications in several languages, proof reading and monitoring of the work performed outside the Institute, such as preparation of designs, translation and printing, obtaining quotes for services, equipment and supplies needed (including preparation of metal plates, designs and so on).

It also provided for 1,164 person months under general temporary assistance, alterations and maintenance of premises, spare parts for various types of equipment, contractual services covering the refurbishment of vehicles and other equipment, the preparation and loading of equipment for shipment to other missions and transport, logistics and electronic support for the Base.

Installation of Mercure earth stations in 10 developing countries (at 34,500 per station), which involves shipment of the equipment to the site, preparation of the base of the antenna, grounding works, alignment of the equipment and initial installation and testing of computer equipment associated with the Mercure station (in support of activity (a) under para. 35).

The expenditure of 27,000 related to the procurement of hard drives for servers and equipment for back up and storage of data in preparation for the closing of the mission.

The equipment at the sites mentioned in the preceding paragraph and table 1 included a full range of fermentation vessels from laboratory scale (8 litres) to full production scale (5,000 litres) as well as preparation and downstream processing equipment such as biosafety cabinets and freeze dryers.

Provision is made for miscellaneous equipment, such as air conditioners, photographic equipment, engineering equipment, fire fighting equipment, replacement tools and other equipment ( 68,000, inclusive of freight costs).

It is important to emphasize that this process requires exploring all physical aspects of the additional positions, including the adaptation of the relevant equipment, preparation of the staff and additional activities.
