The partnering ministries of the Alberta Children and Youth Initiative identified that families with children and youth with special and complex needs often require services and supports from several ministries and regional authorities.

It does not compete with other ministries, but ensures that specific ministries for example, the ministries for education, labour, health, social development, economy and finance include a youth dimension in their own development policies in the context of national, regional and local government.

At the international level, Peru is making a strong commitment through the Ibero American Youth Organization, the only organization that brings together national youth ministries and agencies in Latin America.

Many submissions stress that the resources allotted to ministries of culture or ministries of youth and sport are often reduced because of the host of other economic, social and political priorities on government agendas.

The Youth Sport Programme of the International Labour Organization (ILO) is under way in Albania, El Salvador and Mozambique, bringing together participants from national sports organizations, ministries of sport, and the sports industry.

The Commission has shouldered the responsibility for developing the Syrian Arab Republic's national strategy for young people, by, inter alia, establishing the Youth National Committee, whose members represent all the ministries and State institutions working on youth related issues, in addition to non governmental organizations and programmes focusing on young people.
