190. The following tables give information about invalidity benefits.

It is payable at the rate of 75 per cent of the basis of calculation of the sickness allowance and if incapacity for work results from a work related accident or an occupational disease at the rate of 100 per cent of the basis of calculation.

If incapacity for work was caused by an employment related accident or an occupational disease, the allowance is granted for periods of incapacity for work of less than 30 days.

106. Short term social security includes temporary disability and maternity benefits.

Maternity leave does not entail loss of former employment, seniority or social allowances.

Second, the legislation concerning sickness benefits establishes the right to payment of the allowance at the rate of 100 per cent of the basis of calculation, irrespective of the employment period, if incapacity for work was a work related accident, an accident on the way to or from work or an occupational disease.

213. Unemployment assistance is financed from the Federal Government apos s tax revenues and supplements unemployment benefits as a subsidiary wage replacement benefit.

Employed and self employed people partially incapable of working may be entitled to a reduced sickness benefit, i.e. when a physician finds that the employed person can work part time.

Like unemployment benefits, unemployment assistance partly makes up for the loss of income from work.

Staff entitlements

Anyone who suffers from loss of ability to work, loss of ability to perform activities on the basis of which he she is insured or loss of ability for economic activity Anyone whose remaining ability to work is conditioned upon retraining or additional training, but to which the insured is not entitled, as he she turned 55 (men) or 50 (women) at the date at which the disability was acquired.

The following entitlements are calculated by the system gross salary, staff assessment, dependency allowance, adjusted dependency allowance, post adjustment, hardship, mobility and non removal elements of the mobility and hardship allowance, pension contribution, language allowance, recruitment allowance, salary differential and non resident s allowance.

Such staff receive the normal entitlements associated with the place of assignment, including post adjustment, mobility and hardship allowance and assignment grant, as well as a special operations living allowance (which is similar to mission subsistence allowance) at the non family duty station.
