The Chair of the SBI noted that the first session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP MOP 1) would be held in 2005 in conjunction with the eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties (COP).

The supplementary provisional agenda for the twenty second session of the SBI, proposed after consultation with the Chair, is as follows

In the course of the session, the Commission held two plenary meetings and nine informal meetings.
