The national project Külatee, ( Village Road ) for the development of county communication networks has been launched.

The fourth phase of the NHDP is a new initiative meant to provide balanced and equitable distribution in terms of improving and widening the highway network throughout the country.

An agreement to devote 20 million to other road construction projects in Afghanistan was also signed.

Under the National Highway Development Project (NHDP), 14,279 kilometres of national highways are to be converted to four to six lanes, at a total estimated cost of 6.5 trillion rupees or approximately 151 billion, at 2004 prices.

That will be done by upgrading 21,000 kilometres of single lane roads to two lane highways and by constructing paved shoulders.

These resolutions build on the 1968 Vienna Conventions on Road Traffic and Road Signs and Signals and the European agreements supplementing them.

Major ongoing activities are the East Stanley Housing Development and the continuation of the roads programme.

The recently finalized master plans for the ECE Trans European North South Motorway and Trans European Railway Projects identified main bottlenecks, missing links and other priority infrastructure needs in the road, rail and combined transport networks.

It also called for the construction of several roads, including Road 1 which would link the French Hill to the Neve Ya acov settlement the Mount Scopus road which would link the Maaleh Adumim settlement to Road 1 and the East Jerusalem beltway which would complete the existing beltway encircling Jerusalem to the east, north and south. In 2003, two road construction projects were ongoing throughout the island.

Those arrangements are to remain in place pending the completion of the road construction project within the buffer zone funded by the European Union.

Within the Külatee project, establishing of local government on line Internet connection with the state backbone network Peatee ( Main Road ) is supported.

B. The rights of the project company

190. In connection with the last sentence of paragraph 32, the suggestion was made that some co owners of the project company might be concerned about the risks arising from the involvement of the company in other projects awarded to it in a separate selection process.

The United Kingdom implemented a capacity building project in Ethiopia to assist the Ethiopian Roads Authority with road maintenance and management and the Ethiopian Revenue Reform Programme's customs reform.

An accelerated North East Road Development Project is also under consideration for the development of roads in the northeastern region.
