13. The Consultative Committee on Administrative Questions (CCAQ) took note of the information provided.

In 1995, the Consultative Committee on Administrative Questions (CCAQ) developed and discussed draft criteria for the selection of members of ICSC (see attachment).

Several Committee members are active in the preparations for the regional consultations relating to the study (annex II), and most Committee members will participate in those consultations.

50. Mr. Tang Chengyuan (Secretary General of the Asian African Legal Consultative Committee) said that the Asian African Legal Consultative Committee (AALCC), greatly appreciated the role played by the Commission in the progressive development and codification of international law.

The event was co organized by the Council of Europe the Commission nationale consultative des droits de l'homme of France, the current Chair of the European Coordinating Group of National Institutions and the German Institute for Human Rights.

The Committee commends the establishment of an Advisory Commission on Human Rights, a Complaints Office within the Permanent Special Commission against Racial Discrimination, advisory commissions for foreigners in the communes, and the appointment of an ombudsman.

146. The Committee noted that the Legal Subcommittee had continued to conduct its informal consultations with a view to drawing up a list of annotated items agreed upon by consensus that could be considered by the Committee for possible inclusion in the agenda of the Subcommittee.

Interorganizational bodies are Joint Inspection Unit (JIU), Consultative Committee on Administrative Questions (CCAQ), International Computing Centre (ICC) and Information Systems Coordination Committee (ISCC).

Provincial consultative committees have also been established to supplement the national committee.

Informal consultations (i.e. outside the auspices of the Subcommittee and its working groups) should not interrupt the work of the Subcommittee or its working groups

The terms of reference of the Working Group (see appendix I) were drawn up to reflect the views expressed by the Coordinating Committee for International Staff Unions and Associations of the United Nations System (CCISUA), the Federation of International Civil Servants Associations (FICSA) and the representatives of the Consultative Committee on Administrative Questions (CCAQ).
