Rich countries must improve market access and dismantle trade distorting agricultural subsidies.

In some markets, the trade distorting effects of subsidies to domestic industries also act as access barriers in the energy sector.

In addition to finance, FDI can support domestic enterprise through technology transfer and providing market access.
