The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank are also heavily involved in the development of links in the Central Asian republics.

They are the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank).

Two Parties (GBR, CHE) provided information on their annual contributions to each of the following regional development banks the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Inter American Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Currently the Republic of China is contributing capital to regional development programmes through institutions such as the Asian Development Bank, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, the Inter American Development Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

In Washington, D.C. at the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank), underwent a course of practical training in the Legal Department of the World Bank, including training in all aspects of loan negotiations, June August 1972.

In addition, the Commission emphasized the importance of coordination with organizations with interest and expertise in the field of secured transactions law, such as Unidroit, the Hague Conference on Private International Law, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, EBRD and the Asian Development Bank.

A Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development is being set up for that purpose.

5bis. Developing consumer member means any consumer member as defined in paragraph 5 of this article which is classified by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) as a low income economy or middle income economy

Of this amount, just over 239 million represented International Development Association loans, made at highly concessional rates, and 261 million represented International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans, made at rates closer to those prevailing in the market.

The data collected by the EBRD in the Survey and the Assessment has allowed for a unique comparison of both the extensiveness and the effectiveness of insolvency legal regimes throughout the EBRD's countries of operations.

Co sponsored by the Bank for International Settlements, EBRD, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, JVI has received financial support from Belgium, Canada, France, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.

The completion of the Transcaucasian railway was financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

While some of these Parties only provided a single figure for their World Bank contribution (FIN, GBR), other Parties reported separately contributions to the International Development Agency (IDA) (NZL, CHE) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) (ISL, CHE).

The project was funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Asian Development Bank, and jointly implemented by NAMRIA, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Furthermore, to facilitate recovery among the poorest African countries afflicted by conflict, the World Bank employs special guidelines for exceptional International Development Association (IDA) post conflict allocations.

Particular reference was made in the report to the relevant activities in the affected countries of FAO, the World Bank, IMF, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, UNCTAD and UNDP, as well as the European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

In fact, it became the largest rehabilitation lender in the country.

30. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) indicated that, in general, it takes account of General Assembly resolutions on sanctions in the provision of assistance to countries of Central and Eastern Europe, including the former Soviet Union, and in the procurement of goods and services under Bank financed projects.

The World Bank has transferred 750 million from International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) net income and surplus to the HIPC Trust Fund, and eventual IDA grants would add another 700 million that is believed to be sufficient to cover the Bank s share of the debt relief proposed for the eight countries considered eligible to date under the initiative.

Furthermore, it was noted that the Assembly appealed, in paragraph 9 of the resolution, to the United Nations Development Programme and other bodies responsible for development assistance, such as the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as to Governments in their bilateral aid programmes, to support the training and technical assistance programme of the Commission and to cooperate and coordinate their activities with those of the Commission.

6. Takes note of the intention of the Board and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to pursue a new transfer agreement in the light of the changes made in the pension plan of the Bank and of the interim procedures that will be followed until a new agreement is concluded

Participation of the European Commission, the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the project group meetings also helps to ensure consistent approaches and avoid duplication of efforts.

In its initial stages, the Perekriostok group received seven year project funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and has secured a syndicated loan from western banks.
