Regarding RBB, she noted that basically the budget processes of UNFPA, UNDP and UNICEF had been harmonized.

Since the GEF is the financial mechanism for the CBD, GEF projects emphasized the prevention and control of land degradation by developing sustainable use methods that conserved terrestrial biodiversity.

Unlike the convention financial mechanisms operated by the GEF, the Adaptation Fund is to be financed through a combination of voluntary contributions and mandatory levies on the Kyoto Protocol's Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
