In Benin, a multi component project which began in 1993 was completed in October 1996.

7. The United States of America described 19 regional projects that are currently underway and have received or will receive US 541 million in funding over their lifetime.

In the light of these developments, the 2005 mission implementation plan submitted to the Peace Implementation Council contains 108 items to be completed, out of which 102 items are due to be completed by the end of 2005.

Upon request, the Committee was provided with a list of projects which have experienced serious delays in implementation, including a project in Brazil and another in Pakistan for which the total delay amounted to 4.4 million.
