The objectives of the project are announced through information material and meetings.

To this end, the centre has taken the initiative to create a local United Nations Communications Group, modelled after the Communications Group at United Nations Headquarters.

The task force on the Millennium Development Goals, created after the 2003 annual meeting of the United Nations Communications Group, worked towards developing a communications strategy to promote the Millennium Development Goals at the global and national levels.
