The Working Time Act provides that the regular hours of work per working day must not exceed 8 hours.

Increments salary increments within the levels shall be awarded annually on the basis of satisfactory service.

Workers are not obliged to provide their services for longer than the time specified by the Act.

These provisions may be not applied if the summary working time is set.

(a) Project personnel shall observe the working hours established for the duty station, or established by the senior officer in the field in consultation with representatives of other international organizations in the area.

67. Amendments to the Labour Code of 1992 provide for the normal working day to be 8 hours in a 40 hour five day working week.

The amendments also provide for half time and flexible working hours.

The employer and the worker are free to fix working hours as best suits their convenience, provided always that the rules on time frames and daily hours are complied with (8 hours for work during the day 7 hours for night work 7 hours 30 minutes for work part day, part night).

The length of working hours is regulated by Entity laws it is 40 hours a week.

3. Define night work as that performed between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. in order to bring article 173 into line with the provisions of article 2 of Convention No. 89 on night work of women (revised)

2 Domestic regulations of every State shall fix a minimum working age, as well as working conditions and hours.

Although there is no legislation that discriminates against women, generally speaking the exercise of women's rights is limited in practice.

In 1996, the Group was advised that the time allotted for producing evidence had expired.

Article 114 et seq. of the Employment Act regulate working hours and set the maximum for such hours, as well as the pay entitlement for hours of night and day work (art.121 of the Employment Act).

155. A weekly period of rest follows first of all from the general ban on Sunday work laid down in the Working Time Act.

Its provisions determine norms for hours of work and principles for introducing flexible work schedules that are binding in most establishments.

It further confirms the principle of protection for working women, for whom the work day is set at a maximum of eight hours and the work week at a maximum of 48 hours.

Exceptions may be made by the Secretary General as the needs of the service may require, and staff members shall be required to work beyond the normal tour of duty when requested to do so.

As concerns the person's right to breaks during working day, the Labour Law provides the right of each employee to a break during the working time if the length of the working time during the day exceeds six hours.

This contract should stipulate, in any case, the number of hours to be worked, the number of leisure hours (minimum number of days off), the nature of the work, the weekly schedule, remuneration, and the period of notice.

157. The Federal Holidays Act which regulates the statutory minimum leave to be granted to workers has been amended by virtue of article 2 of the Working Time Act.

As regards periodic holidays, the Act provides that after one year's service a worker is entitled to 6 days' rest two days are added for every five years' service.

Consequently, it has regulated the length of the working day, that is, the maximum number of hours between the beginning and the end of the working day, including breaks for rest.

66. Rules on working time, rest, leaves and holidays are set out in chapter VII and chapter VIII of the Labour Code.

69. The Labour Code provides for a half hour break during the workday (art. 151, para. 1), a 12 hour minimum and uninterrupted rest between workdays (art. 152), and a 48 hour minimum and uninterrupted weekend rest (art. 153, para. 1).

117. Work in excess of the normal hours fixed in accordance with the binding provisions is overtime.

Lastly, article 89, subparagraph 3 covers cases where the actual time spent at work does not exceed seven hours in a day.

(d) Hours of work The general provisions apply

A 6 hour daily or 36 hour weekly shift is established for minors, for whom night work is prohibited

5. Prohibit the working day to be extended to more than 10 hours to bring article 1890 into line with the provisions of article 4 of Convention No. 30 on hours of work (commerce and offices)

In accordance with this definition, hours of work mean not only the time of actual work performance but also time of readiness for work and breaks in work, which are calculated in the hours of work on the basis of the law.

(a) The staff member should have had at least 20 years of service within the United Nations common system and 5 years of service at the top regular step of the current grade

The industrial codes of the New Deal set ceilings on the workweek for specified industries and workers. The Fair Labor Standards Act provided financial incentives by requiring overtime pay for employees working long hours.

The time schedule for implementation of the first two operational objectives is a minimum of three years no deadline was indicated for the third objective.

First, there is overtime as defined and limited by the orders fixing the duration of work by occupation, which require the employer simply to notify the Labour Inspectorate.

The same State also suggested specifying the non compatibility of posts and working hours.

This Act regulates a new type of leave, quot for the time required for technical and prenatal examinations in preparation for childbirth, which have to be carried out during the workday quot provision for such leave was included in the Workers apos Statute, by means of the eleventh additional provision.

Regarding reduced working hours due to nursing and childcare as stated in Article 9 of the General National Collective Labour Agreement of the year 1993, the employee has the right to apply alternatively for equal time of adjoining paid leave, within the time period during which he she is entitled to reduced working time due to childcare.

(iii) Derogations from maximum hours of work

(d) Hours of work The provisions of the Employment Contract Act apply

In particular, the Convention provides for the regulation of working hours and compensation for overtime, daily and weekly rest periods, paid annual leave, regularly paid basic remuneration, and the prohibition of the sale and purchase of employment (E CN.17 1999 5 Add.2).

In such cases, the periods of qualifying service and the expected duration of continuous service specified in paragraph s (a)(ii) , (f) and (g) above shall be reduced by half.

A decree of 4 February 1937 was subsequently to rule that hours of work could be fixed at 48 per week, and must not exceed 9 hours per day.

Article 132 of the Labour Law, in its turn, provides even shorter working hours for persons who have reached the age of 13, prescribing that they must not be employed for more than two hours per day and not more than 10 hours per week if work is performed during the study year and not more than four hours per day and not more than 20 hours per week if work is performed during holidays of educational institution.
