C. Submission of draft proposals

Revised proposals shall be voted on in the order in which the original proposals were submitted, unless the revision substantially departs from the original proposal. In that case, the original proposal shall be considered as withdrawn and the revised proposal shall be treated as a new proposal.

With regard to the programme of work, the five ambassadors' proposal is good enough. It has distilled all the proposals on the table.

A proposal is considered an amendment to another proposal if it merely adds to, deletes from or revises part of that proposal.

We heard today a response from the United States delegation to the NAM proposal, and now we are hearing a proposal from the United States that seems to me to be a new proposal, not the Chair's proposal.

Since the introduction of draft resolution A 60 L.27, Nepal has become a sponsor of the draft resolution.

I make special note of that put forth by the African Union and that presented by the Uniting for Consensus movement, to which I will refer later.
