The Japan Meteorological Agency conducts space based meteorological observations using GMS and meteorological rockets as part of the World Weather Watch programme of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The Department operates 13 meteorological stations.

It has 143 reference climate stations, 530 basic weather stations and 1,736 ordinary weather stations.

South Africa operates 20 fully equipped weather offices including on Antarctica.

Launching of the meteorological rockets are carried out by the Meteorological Rocket Observation Station, the sole facility capable of meteorological rocket observation in East Asia and the western Pacific.

The Meteorological Research Institute develops techniques for the more effective use of meteorological satellite data, and conducts studies on sensors for the next generation of meteorological satellites.

Viet Nam operates one ground atmospheric monitoring station that belongs to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Basic Pollution Monitoring Network.

As the ground facility to operate GMS, the Agency has the Meteorological Satellite Centre, which comprises the Data Processing Centre for image data processing and the Command and Data Acquisition Station for communication between the Data Processing Centre and GMS.

The Korea Meteorological Administration planned to make meteorological observations for research, operations and applications available without restrictions.

GMS observes cloud coverage and temperatures of sea surface and cloud top, and collects meteorological data from aircraft, buoys and meteorological observation stations in remote areas.

World Meteorological Organization

The satellite data serve to improve weather forecasting on an operational basis, and are used in the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) and the Global Precipitation Climatology Project (GPCP) of WMO.

The meteorological rockets observe temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind etc. at altitudes of between 30 and 60 kilometres.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), which was established in 1950, is a specialized agency of the United Nations system.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States and the Dobson Calibration Centre of the WMO Global Atmospheric Watch provided the necessary instrumentation and conducted the seminar with the assistance of the German weather service and the Czech Hydro meteorological institute.

The United Republic of Tanzania's network consists of 24 full meteorological stations, 8 atmospheric chemistry, 13 agro meteorological, and 110 climate stations and about 1,400 rainfall stations.

They constructed maps similar to those used by meteorologists showing the flow of plasma in the ionosphere and the characteristics of ions and electrons precipitating into the atmosphere.

Meteorological observation from satellites mitigation was contributing to improved weather forecasting and the prevention and mitigation of natural disasters such as hurricanes, as well as efforts to address the devastating effects of climate change.

Armenia counts on a network of as many as 45 meteorological stations, 3 climatic stations, and 70 meteorological, 105 river and 7 lake observation sites.

The National Meteorological Database in Chile is reported to store climate information and have a comprehensive database dating back to 1950.

The Virtual Laboratory for Satellite Training and Data Utilization was established in May 2001 jointly by WMO and the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites as a means of promoting the utilization of satellite data and products by WMO members.

And it's a responsive system that's trained on actual weather.

The major activity of WMO, providing the international framework for meteorological observations and data exchange, has contributed considerably to weather forecasting.

I also translate weather data into musical scores.

(f) Improving weather information, forecasting and warning

You can send weather balloons up into the stratosphere, collect microbes, see what's up there.

I then compare my information to the things I find on the Internet satellite images, weather data from weather stations as well as offshore buoys.

Meteorologists believe that the position of the Kuroshio is drastically affecting the weather of North America.

So all of these scores are made up of weather data.

But on the ground the signs are increasingly discouraging.
