Reactivation of the mixed commissions

A national truth commission of mixed composition

It has thus opted for a single truth commission combining elements of both commissions.

There was agreement that the commission should be mixed, some suggesting that it should be granted competence to carry out investigations and prosecutions beyond the borders of Burundi, if necessary.

In accordance with the objectives set, the entire programme of CONAMPROS follows a line converging on the socio economic strategy of the State.

It ended with a total of 212 specific agreements being reached, and a mixed commission created for follow up.

42. The Standing Committee of the Board usually meets at the end of each regular Board session and, in lieu of the Board, in odd numbered years, to deal with matters delegated to it by the Board.

Paragraph 2 referred to international procedures, which might include mixed claims commissions, negotiations for lump sum payments, and so on.

Pakistan has a special interest and a sense of ownership in the proposed Commission, which basically follows the same concept of a composite approach we proposed long ago.

The CPMI highlighted the discussion on the violence and sexual exploitation perpetrated against children and adolescents in Brazil.

To avoid the establishment and operation of two virtually identical commissions a national truth and reconciliation commission and an international judicial commission the mission recommends a single, national truth commission based on the recently promulgated Law on the National Truth and Reconciliation Commission as amended, with a mixed composition of both national and international components.

Furthermore, my delegation endorses the Secretary General's proposal that, in the event of the establishment of the Peacebuilding Commission, the Commission should report to the Security Council and the Economic and Social Council sequentially, and not jointly, to avoid duplication and confusion.

(e) The functioning of the Headquarters Contracts Committee and the local committees on contracts

To this end, it shall have three commissions the Political Commission, the Economic Commission and the Cooperation Commission.

Their largely overlapping mandates and the practical difficulties ensuing from their concurrent or sequential operation, including in particular a potential risk of contradictory findings, led the mission to consider the advisability of combining elements of both commissions and creating, instead, a single truth commission of mixed composition.

In accordance with regulations adopted by the General Assembly, the Fund is administered by the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board, a staff pension committee for each member organization and a secretariat of the Board and of each such committee.
