Objectives and indicators

The aims and purposes of the organization among others are

The policy has short term and long term objectives.

Progress on goal 1, on poverty reduction, and goal 2, on primary education, affects progress on goals 4, 5 and 6.

They were directly relevant to target 18 under MDG eight (Global Partnership for Development), but they also had a large potential in terms of contributing to the achievement of several other MDGs, such as goal one (eradication of extreme poverty), two (education), three (gender equality), six (health) and seven (environment).

In addition, progress on goals 4, 5 and 6 is dependent on goal 7, on environmental sustainability, and goal 8, on global partnership for development.

Identifying objectives and strategies towards achieving these objectives are concrete steps towards the achievement of the group's overall goal.

Their goals are compatible with those of the Millennium Development Goals and the Plan of Action of the twenty seventh special session.

AND SOLIDARITY (CIDSE)

The comprehensive package is designed to contribute to the achievement of both WASH target 1 (water supply and sanitation Target 10 of the Millennium Development Goals) and target 2 (WASH in schools) in 60 priority countries.

Clearly articulated priorities and policies are better able to be translated into projects and programmes with measurable goals and indicators of progress.

Education and health care are among the principal objectives of the Millennium Development Goals.

(c) Take the development objectives of the recipient countries into consideration, as relevant, including their effort to implement the goals and targets associated with the Millennium Declaration, the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation and other internationally agreed goals and objectives.

Unlike the other goals, the target corresponding to MDG 7 (Ensure environmental sustainability) is not established in specific quantitative terms or with particular timelines.
