This contribution is valued at 152,900 for the period from 15 April to 30 June 1998 and 323,000 for the period from 1 July to 30 November 1998 and is reported in line 21, budgeted voluntary contributions in kind, of annexes I and II to the present report (see also paragraph 40 below).

4. In summary, the recommendations of the OESP evaluation and the mid term review of the fifth regional programme can be grouped under the following headings

Peacekeeping related activities funded by general trust funds are shown in annex II. As the new 12 month financial reporting period started from 1 July 1996, the financial statements for the transitional period from 1 January 1996 to 30 June 1997 are included in part one and those for the 12 month period from 1 July 1996 to 30 June 1997 are included in part two of this volume.

As an exceptional measure, in order to help the State party catch up with its reporting obligations, so as to be in full compliance with the Convention, the Committee invites the State party to submit its second, third and fourth periodic reports by 23 October 2007, due date of the fourth periodic report.

Considering the very limited resources available during the first reporting and evaluation cycle, the Expert Group notes that future reporting and evaluation processes could be improved considerably if adequate resources are provided.

In accordance with article 9 of the Convention, the Committee will expect the submission of a combined tenth and eleventh periodic report by 2 February 2000.
