The Conference on Disarmament cannot waste the opportunities available.

The Network as mentioned here was able to attend at the meetings of three sessions of the Commission on Human Rights too.

The United States would like the question of resources to be considered during the first session of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention.

To ensure the success of the Conference the preparatory work should be started immediately.

If there is an assurance that we can hold such an informal meeting and that something will come out of it, later on in the morning we can meet formally to adopt the report.

We have not been able to achieve an agreement on the programme of work in this session.

29. The Chairman said that he intended to suspend the meeting briefly to enable the Secretary General to leave the conference room.

I think that with that scheduling we will be able to look at the text calmly, and we will be able to depict the present session as accurately as possible.

At the resumed session of the Committee in September we will be in a somewhat better position to formulate recommendations.

However, more delegations might have attended meetings of the Preparatory Committee if cost of living expenses had been payable from the Fund, and he appealed to States to contribute generously to ensure that delegations from all Member States could attend the conference, particularly as it would be taking place away from Headquarters.

It is an honour and a privilege for me to chair the First Committee at the sixtieth session of the General Assembly.

In May 2005, the Kuwaiti parliament had amended the Electoral Act to enable women to participate in parliamentary elections for the first time.

6.1 The Committee considered the admissibility of the communication during its fifty second session.

The recommendation of the Bureau would be reported to the Committee so that it could proceed with elections.

This would involve considering adjustments in the calendar so that the results of UNCTAD s meetings could be conveyed to other appropriate fora in a timely and relevant manner.

If agreement can be reached, expansion of the Council's membership will make it more representative.

The Conference on Disarmament should be enabled to take up the issue of missiles in all their aspects.

The Conference on Disarmament has a great role to play in this process.

If it is necessary to cancel a meeting, care is taken whenever possible to ensure that sufficient notice is given to Conference Services.

The Vienna Conference had set the international community a challenge which it could not be sure of meeting.
