The calculation of the budget for next year is based on the costs this year.

The United Nations regular budget expenditure should be not taken into account in the calculation of the level of the reserve.

The recosting adjustments for the Fund budget and the programme support cost budget were separately reflected under each of the budgets.

Restricting budget revisions corresponds essentially to updating the approved budget plan.

Costs to the extrabudgetary component of the United Nations budget are estimated at 7.4 million.

Its main revenue is central budget subsidies (more than 60 per cent of total revenue) and contributions at the rate of 3 per cent of the basis of calculation.

As outlined above, the budget methodology has been modified by introducing volume adjustments for the revised budgets which align budget estimates with estimated expenditure.
