6. The following topics were discussed on the basis of papers prepared by experts

After the debate at the third session, the Chairperson suggested that the text contained in the working paper should be replaced by the following wording

(a) Discussion of the analytical paper, with a concise compilation of the recommendations of the first three sessions of the Forum and the status of their implementation at the national, regional and international levels

Accordingly, these documents are before the SBSTA at its fourth session.

During the discussions held so far, many proposals had been submitted regarding the most contentious articles of the draft protocol.

The deliberations and conclusions of the Working Group, including its consideration of various draft provisions, are set forth below in chapter II.
