The recovery rate of loans is almost 100 percent.

Particularly successful in terms of repayment rate has been the group solidarity lending programme.

Despite the ongoing crisis, repayment rates remain above the ninetieth percentile.

This extremely high recovery rate and low defaults were due to peer or group pressure which acted as a guarantee for loan repayments.

It was akin to the Grameen Bank of Bangladesh, with the difference that NABARD lent to groups while Grameen Bank lent to individuals, and its Self Help Groups had a 95 per cent on time loan repayment and 2 per cent loss.

Its first time loans are between 100 and 200, and the overall repayment rate is above 98 per cent.

The loan is repayable at the rate of 1,000,000 a year, commencing in 1990.

This led to falling repayment rates as clients were unable to enter the branch offices to make payments on loans, rising portfolio at risk and increasing costs to the programme.

The fact that the Provident Fund humanitarian loans do not carry any interest rate (commercial or otherwise) renders the effective interest rate method for amortization inapplicable, as there are no interest deductions from the repayment instalments as required by the effective rate method.

Is the interest of this loan fixed over a period of time or is it adapted from time to time? If the interest rate changes during the amortization phase of the loan you should choose the option'variable interest rate '.

The group guaranteed and individual loans provided during the reporting period had a total value of 61,000, with a repayment rate of 95 per cent.

Soft loans were provided to four graduates to help establish microenterprises, bringing the field total to 14 soft loans, with a 100 per cent repayment rate.

The low interest rate environment has also caused lenders to take extra risks in order to sustain profits. Banks and other lenders are extending credit to lower quality borrowers, to borrowers with large quantities of existing debt, and as loans with fewer conditions on borrowers (so called covenant lite loans ).

In fact, China s high debt GDP ratio is, to a large extent, a result of its simultaneously high saving and investment rates. And, while the inability to repay loans can contribute to a high debt burden, the nonperforming loan (NPL) ratio for China s major banks stands at less than 1 .

The Bank had granted hundreds of millions of dollars in loans and was operating very effectively, as demonstrated by the fact that its rate of recovery on loans was over 98 per cent.

Lower interest rates on loans are available in capital markets to borrowers who have ample debt service coverage , which is defined as total revenues available for debt service as a percentage of the required debt service.

84. The Committee noted that, in the year 2000, 14 Member States would have a higher per capita rate of assessment than the Member State with the highest rate of assessment.
