I. ACTION BY THE UNITED NATIONS CENTRE FOR HUMAN SETTLEMENTS (HABITAT)

Declares its determination to do the following

172. The United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (Habitat) has taken necessary steps towards implementation of OIOS recommendations and substantial progress is reported.

4. The Office took three steps in order to identify the host countries for these Centres.

Action taken on the 12 core recommendations

In response to that request, ECA will pursue action to rationalize and harmonize those centres.

On 15 September 1995, both countries were invited to undertake the necessary steps for the establishment of the centres.

Strict mitigation measures are applied to all launches of the Centre national d études spatiales (CNES) (French National Centre for Space Studies).

Along with the request, the Social Work Center submits minutes and reports on the activities undertaken that can also contain a proposal that a temporary measure is pronounced and a proposal for the type of measure to be pronounced.

The actions taken or to be taken to implement the recommendations of the Board of Auditors in its report on the accounts of ITC for the biennium ended 31 December 19971are set out below.

Further steps are being taken to improve ITC approaches and tools for needs assessment and project design.

It should also procure and install initial IDC hardware, acquire and install IDC software, and initiate procurement and installation of IMS station equipment.

The European Union is determined to act to respond to those needs.

We are moving with the same resolve to achieve the Millennium Development Goals.

As stated above, the Government wants to shift the focus from legislation to encouraging initiatives by the target group itself.

The Government of Indonesia is responding by taking measures to promote poverty eradication and democracy using a people centred approach.

All of these measures taken as a whole should have as their goal to place development at the heart of the international community's decisions.
