In the final budget, only major departures from the approved revised budget are presented.

Since the revised budget was only modified for costing assumptions, estimated expenditure could differ considerably from the revised budget.

As the focal point for the budget, the Budget Officer will be responsible for data collection, the development of performance indicators, the calculation of budget proposals, the layout and presentation of the budget and performance reports and the subsequent issuance of budgetary advices.

The budgets for UNOPS projects are reviewed on a quarterly basis and budget revisions are effected accordingly.

Restricting budget revisions corresponds essentially to updating the approved budget plan.

B. Budget calculations Consultations with ACABQ appear to indicate that it recommends the following two major modifications of the methodology for budget calculations a change in the calculation of revised budgets and a change in the comparison between the forthcoming and the preceding budget.

As outlined above, the budget methodology has been modified by introducing volume adjustments for the revised budgets which align budget estimates with estimated expenditure.
