In Peru there existed a National Council of the Judiciary, an organ recognized by the constitution with the power of removing from office the judges of the Supreme Court and senior government procurators and, at the request of the Supreme Court and of the Board of Senior Procurators, respectively, judges and government procurators attached to any court.
