Time use surveys as part of national household survey programmes and collecting statistics desegregated by gender on time spent on activities both in the household and on the labour market.

Until the recent amendment of the Labour Code, all types of informal employment, including part time work and fixed time work, had been excluded from the scope of the Code.

However, the Committee of Experts of the International Labour Organization had pointed out that, although more women were entering the Italian labour market, they were employed primarily on a part time basis or in typically female sectors.

By the end of 2004, there were some 3,200 labour safeguard inspectorates nationwide employing some 43,000 staff, of whom some 19,000 were full time inspectors and 24,000 worked as inspectors part time.

Although women were over represented in the part time labour force, the equal opportunities and childcare programmes outlined at the previous meeting did not seem to be linked to part time workers.

However questions on occupational safety were included for the first time in Labour Force Survey 2001 2002, which was released in October 2003.

At the same time, Nepal had ratified the Conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) No. 138 concerning Minimum age for Admission to Employment and No. 182 concerning the Prohibition and Immediate Action for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour.

The new Labour Law opened possibilities for a mother (or father if mother works a full time) to work half time up to three years, after a child turns one, if additional care is required.
