MONTHLY INCOME IN MINIMUM WAGES

The Concept On Ensuring the Minimum Income Level to the Poorest Inhabitants was developed and adopted on 8 February 2000.

Sometimes, the issue of social exclusion will be more important to tackle than, say, providing a minimum level of income.

238. From an analysis of income level and level of education, it is apparent that the higher the level of education the higher the income however, women with schooling at the vocational education level have incomes of between three and a half and six times the minimum wage, whereas men have incomes ranging from over five to ten times the minimum wage.

At the same time, there have been efforts to raise the level of earned income by setting minimum wage legislation. But the minimum wage has never reached the floor set for a living income and has not, therefore, appreciably reduced the bill for wage subsidies.

Social exclusion affects the level of different human development indicators and, often, the level of income itself, just as income and human development would influence social exclusion.

A minimum level of funding was agreed on for training editorial staff during 2005.

The Committee regrets that despite the positive growth of macroeconomic indicators in Mexico, especially the sharp decrease in the level of inflation, the National Minimum Wage Commission has not adjusted the minimum wage level upwards.
