Support for the establishment and strengthening of these institutions is a priority area for my Office.

One major area of focus in 2005 was support to the first joint office model in Cape Verde.

The GEF will provide the Conference of the Parties with the reports of the GEF Office of Monitoring and Evaluation relevant to GEF activities in the area of land degradation.

There had been no serious managerial breach in the area of investment policy at the United Nations Office at Geneva, since all investment activities were conducted in accordance with the relevant official policy guidelines.
