The supplementary information provided to the Advisory Committee described travel requirements only in general terms.

The Advisory Committee noted extensive travel plans for UNAMSIL, which were hard to justify for a Mission that was nearing liquidation and recommended that the travel programme should be rationalized.

61. The Advisory Committee recognizes that travel is an essential ingredient in the effective management of the peacekeeping process.

V.39 The Advisory Committee notes that the resources for travel of staff have been budgeted at the maintenance level and amount to 1,299,800 (before recosting).
