Overall, the country's education system has been feminized, and female teachers predominate in education organizations (80.6 ).

For the Faculty of Education in 2002, an enrolment 673 was reported, of whom 309 (46 ) were female.

In order to mitigate to the extent possible the absence of education, in particular of girls, in the areas under Taliban control, many female teachers have organized informal, home based education.

Although all laws on education give an equal opportunity for schooling to male and female children, it is a fact that there exists a difference in education in rural and urban areas.
