At present, the value they add seems low.

It is calculated to receive debt relief equivalent to about 345 million (in net present value terms) which is projected to reduce its debt to export ratio to 202 per cent.

PV is the present value in the sequence of payments.

Senegal also reached the completion point in April 2004, and in June 2004 during a meeting of the Paris Club, creditors agreed to cancel US 94 million of Senegal's debt in net present value terms.

At HIPC completion point in June 1999, when formal cancellation is to take place, Mozambique s total debt stock in net present value terms is to fall from over US 7 billion to US 1.1 billion.

The Secretary General indicates that the present value as at 31 December 2003 of the accrued after service health insurance liability of future benefits (net of retiree contributions) for the United Nations is estimated at 1,484.9 million.

41. In measuring an environmental liability based on the present value approach, the discount rate used to measure present value would be a risk free rate, such as that used for a government security that has a similar term.

Uganda is estimated to receive 1.95 billion in nominal debt service relief.12 However, the net present value of its debt to exports ratio was estimated to reach 258 per cent by the end of 2003, a level significantly above the HIPC sustainable threshold.14

In UNICEF, this includes income other than the value of the voluntary contributions and the net income of greeting card and related operations.

There are no estimates of whether and how long the present rate of net CO2 removals could be maintained.

Group II, shown in annex I.C to the present report, consists of assets with an inventory value of 0.9 million (depreciated value of 0.5 million) and represents 2 per cent of the total value of ONUMOZ assets.

The estimated nominal debt service relief committed to Burkina Faso amounts to 930 million.12 By the end of 2003, the net present value of Burkina Faso's debt to exports ratio had risen to 199 per cent, from 150 per cent at the end of 2001.

This approach continues to offer value in attaining a rounded view, and it is retained in the present report.
