Requirements for the replenishment of start up kits total 528,000, inclusive of freight at the standard rate of 15 per cent of the equipment value, are as follows communications, workshop and test equipment, 262,800, office equipment, 56,900, and data processing equipment, 208,300.

The additional requirements are included in the present report under contingent owned equipment.

The provision under information technology ( 406,100) includes requirements of 368,600 for the acquisition of data processing equipment.

The unspent balance of 20,000 is attributable to lower requirements under the maintenance of information technology equipment.

6.20 Resource requirements in the amount of 23,500 are proposed to provide for the acquisition of office automation equipment.

27.29 The amount of 6,783,600 provides for (a) the continuation of 23 posts ( 5,493,700) and (b) non post requirements ( 1,289,900), which reflect a decrease of 16,400 relating mainly to non recurrent requirements under public information equipment, partially offset by increased requirements in public information production costs and rental of equipment to cover meetings and events in Geneva.

The unbudgeted requirements of 91,500 relate to the purchase of related equipment and supplies to replace worn damaged equipment in vehicle workshops at mission headquarters and the six regional headquarters.

88. Transport of contingent owned equipment. There were no requirements for the transport of contingent owned equipment during this period and, therefore, no expenditures were incurred under this line item.

58. Data processing equipment. Additional requirements of 166,700 were due to the upgrading of the mission computer infrastructure with software and hardware applications to meet New York Headquarters requirements.

Additional requirements of 9,300 relate to the purchase of equipment and related supplies to ensure the security of mission property.

Additional requirements under office equipment and observation equipment are based on the current arrangements for reimbursement of office and observation self sustainment rates for 470 and 923 troops, respectively.
