The overall decrease of 0.9 million in support budget resources for 2006 2007 includes a decrease of 1.70 million in trust fund support, a decrease of 0.2 million in the trust fund contribution and an increase of 1.0 million in the Environment Fund budget.

31. The present cost estimates represent a 10.4 per cent reduction, in gross terms, in relation to the previous budget.

During the budget period, it is proposed that the number of civilian posts be reduced.

This budget increase will be fully offset by a corresponding decrease in other field offices budgets.

And the modest budget allotted to the Court is a minute and diminishing proportion of the budget of the United Nations.

The updated amount represents a decrease of SwF 13,500, or 0.02 per cent, compared with the approved budget for 2004 2005.

The calculations of projected and actual emissions reductions focused primarily on CO2.

The reform proposals would lead to additional reductions and the Advisory Committee did not want to have to do its work twice.

V.47 The Advisory Committee notes that regular budget staff levels would remain unchanged and that extrabudgetary posts would be reduced by one P 5.

In 1997, UNITAR achieved a reduction in expenditure, exceeding by 59,300 the target of 130,727 expenditure reduction set in the 1997 budget.

28B.7 The overall level of resources for the Office of Programme Planning, Budget and Accounts under the regular budget amounts to 29,090,100 before recosting, reflecting a net decrease of 370,000, or 1.3 per cent, from the revised appropriation for the biennium 2004 2005.

For 2005 2006, the Secretary General proposed a budget of 107.2 million, a decrease of 184.4 million or 63.3 per cent, against the appropriation of 291.6 million for 2004 2005.

It was therefore regrettable that extrabudgetary funding and overall development aid had declined.

15. Concern was expressed about the continued reduction in the budget during the past consecutive bienniums.

Therefore, in order to reduce the backlog, adequate additional resources would have to be included in future programme budgets.
